THE STORY

The story of this game, I wish I could say, kept my attention, but I don't want to lie. On my quest to achieve one hundred percent completion, I started strong and watched every cut scene to figure out what was going on. However, I only made it about 15 hours. Sorry, but it's a game - I want to play the damn thing, not watch a 62-hour-long movie. I tried my best, coach, so please don't be mad at me. I will summarize what I remember, but beware of spoilers if you haven't played yet. The story that I watched followed a pretty standard arc, with Clive (the main character) being revealed as the monster who killed his brother, Joshua. Surprise, surprise - Joshua didn't actually die, which shocked us all. Later on, Clive falls in love with Jill, their childhood friend. Other than that, my interest in the story dropped as JRPG activities took over my brain, and I zoned out until I earned the platinum trophy. Overall, I would rate it 6/10 - it was good, but just basic.

THE GRIND

Final Fantasy 16 was a great game and a semi challenging platinum journey. I say semi challenging because my attention span for grinding based trophies is lower then that of a goldfish. Lucky for me only like two were an issue. Overall i my trophy grind was a good time. All of the combat trophies were a breeze, the story ones are givens, and the FINAL FANTASY mode was not bad with the auto evade ring. I will give this Platinum a 7/10 for an overall experience and i think anyone can attain it with little to no difficulty.

THE QUALITY

This was a beautiful game the colors were vibrant, the atmosphere was rich, and the sounds throughout the game were awesome. The voice acting was picked perfectly which is always a worry for me in JRPG’s. Don’t you just hate it when a badass character comes on to the screen to kick everyones ass and they cast a 14 year old to voice them. Or worse yet the weak comic relief sounds like Darth Vader. Any ways this game had no real hiccups for me in the quality department, hell sometimes i found myself distracted by the level of detail in this game. During the boss fights were you become a giant pissed off fire monkey the blasts of combat would flood your vision like like being front row at a rave, Pretty cool. 9/10

THE JURY

The jury on Final Fantasy 16 is it is a top notch game. Well worth the full $70 price tag. The quality was great, the trophy hunt was easy, and the story was ok. The average for this game comes out to a 7.3/10, not bad could be worse. I feel this game has a little bit of something for everyone.
