Atlas Fallen
Sand Suffer Simulator

THE STORY
This was a boiler plate fantasy game. You create a character and find a magical talking object and said object grants you magical powers to save the world. In this game it is a gauntlet that allows you to surf on sand. Now I know that sounds lame to start but it is ten times better than Forspoken. You know the other magic game where you find a talking gauntlet that gives you magic powers that came out this year. Wild timing almost like a bunch of shit heads got together in a big room and threw a dart at a wall and The Year Of Magic was born. Any ways with your Shiny new gauntlet you set off to beat the evil demon lord who brought pain and sand to the world. 4/10 Honestly, I’m over this story arc for fucks sake I just started The Immortals of Aveum, and it is pretty much the same arc as well. Low score because this non-AAA title has been done before this year.
THE GRIND
Tedious should be the name of this game. I struggled getting though this one and it all came down to a trophy that I missed. One challenge you need to complete is to defeat a certain type of enemy without taking damage and me being an idiot I figured they would mark the bastard to be easy to spot. Well only after I beat it did, I figure it out and these enemies do not respond so I need to start a new game. Very fucking annoying and it is not helped by the game being riddled with bugs and some of them can be game breaking. For instance, one of the bugs that has yet to be addressed by the developer is that sometimes when playing Co-Op bosses can become immortal. 4/10 This grind gave me a headache I do not recommend going for this Platinum.
THE QUALITY
The sand surfing in this one is the focal point of the whole experience. It is fun and cool for the first few hours of the game. After that it can become a giant pain in the ass to navigate battles with and on more than one occasion caused me to die. The graphics are nice from a distance but if you look at anything up close you can tell this one did not have a AAA budget and that is ok. For the experience you get it has charm and is no way a bad game. It is buggy and frustrating at times, but I liked the product I bought. 6/10 If the developer can clean up some of these bugs and respawn the elite enemies to allow for endgame replay ability they would be aces.
THE JURY
4.6/10 Over double the score that I gave to Forspoken, and it was probably done on half the budget that Square Enix turd cost. This game was fun to play, sure it has some issues that made it annoying to play but at the end of the day it did not leave a bad taste in my mouth. Playing it with a friend made for some good times and if you are looking for some of that in your life, I would recommend this game.
