Assassins Creeds Big Three
Medjay, Vikings, and Mythology

THE STORY
Assassins creed is something of a household name nowadays and if you have been a fan of the games sense its inception then you should know about these games. “The Big Three” are where the Assassins creed games took a huge change from linear stealth games to these massive open world sandboxes with way too much for you to look at. Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla are the games that make up the big three. They take place in ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, and ancient England respectively. Each has its own character that contributes to the overall Assassins Creed story and each game is way to fucking long. If you put amount of time to 100% each game together you are looking at a staggering 300 hours of gameplay. Origins was alright and probably the grittiest of the three games. You spend the whole campaign searching for the people who killed your family. Odyssey was a little more lighthearted as you had a fun time navigating through Greek mythology. Then there is Valhalla where you get to live out your dreams as a Viking pillaging and murdering your way across England. What is not to like in that game. The three of these were a great change of pace for the series but I am happy the next entry Mirage will get back to the basics of linear story telling. Sense there are three games in this post I am going to give three scores for each category. For story I have 5/10 for Origins, 6/10 for Odyssey, and 8/10 for Valhalla. They got better as they figured out how to best handle games so massive.
THE GRIND
I have already been over how big these games are, so I am not going to beat that dead horse anymore. Of the three Origins grind was the most forgettable. It was pretty much just clear every location on the map and then beat the story. Odyssey was pretty much the same only it was a ton of sailing through the Greek islands. So, fucking tedious as all hell but it was easy, the story for this one was also a lot more fun. Now finally Valhalla, this game was fun the trophies were a bit more themed and adventure based instead of just clear everything and beat the story. There was those for this one as well which was a daunting task for how big the map was. 5/10 for Origins, 8/10 for odyssey, and 7/10 for Valhalla. Origins was aggravating, Odyssey was fun but a lot of sailing, and Valhalla was quality but just way too much.
THE QUALITY
Not too much to say in this category each game was beautiful in its own way. Each environment you get to explore is more expansive than the last. With Origins setting taking place in Egypt, you really get to experience the sheer size of the Sahara, Pyramids, and the Nile. Beautiful sunsets in Egypt and it makes me want to go there. Odyssey was like taking a cruise. You sail around and just get a small taste of a bunch of islands. Valhalla was a hide and seek simulator. A bunch of shit is hiding, and you need to seek it. Also, there is literally a fucking hide and seek mission in this game. All three get and 8/10 they are well made games even if the content in them can be questionable at times.
THE JURY
Final scores are in and with an overall score of 6/10 Origins. This game was cool because it was the start of an era in Assassins Creed. Past that this game was weak. Odyssey scores a massive 7.3/10, I really liked the Greek mythology stuff. Finally, we have Valhalla with a 7.6/10 only slightly better of a game. You are a Viking for fuck’s sake that is bad ass the only thing to hinder this one was the sheer length of the game and the amount of looting you needed to do. All in all, these games are great and if you have the time to spare give them some love, Assassins Creed games are always on sale.
